He graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ankara University in 1983. He began working at the Bornova Veterinary Control and Research Institute in 1984. He retired from the same Institute in 2020. In 1992, he was awarded the title of Specialist in the Department of Bacteriology by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. In 1998, he was awarded the title of Doctor of Virology from the Department of Virology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Selçuk University. He held various posts in different departments at the Bornova Veterinary Control and Research Institute. He served as Deputy Technical Director of the Institute and Head of the Bacteriology Department. He received training from national and international authorities on laboratory quality management and accreditation. Within this framework, he contributed to the Institute’s accreditation. In the Bacteriology Department, accreditation was achieved for the fluorescent antibody technique for rabies, the microscopic diagnosis of anthrax, the ELISA-based diagnosis of paratuberculosis, and the Rose Bengal test for brucellosis. During his tenure, he carried out projects related to his areas of expertise and participated in national and international projects. He has spoken at numerous national congresses and conferences. He has published a large number of articles on animal diseases and health in various journals.
